Insights into Adult Disability Payment

The Citizens Advice network in Scotland is the largest independent provider of Adult Disability Payment (ADP) advice outside of Social Security Scotland (SSS). We provide holistic support across multiple areas to people who need it.

Unfortunately, the reality of losing staff in our funding cuts, is that we are unable to assist with as many clients that come to us with help to claim the benefits they may be entitled to. We have to send them to Social Security Scotland (SSS) direct or give them advice on how they do it themselves. This is shown in our figures as a reduction over the year of £1.2m in money that we are able to help them get in Adult Disability Payments alone from last year.
