This is a payment to help adults with extra costs if they have a disability or long-term health condition.

- They must have had the condition for at least 3 months, and expect it to last at least 9 more months (exceptions for terminal illness).
- Must live in Scotland.
What it covers:
This payment helps with the costs that come from having a disability, whether it’s to help with:
- Daily living needs (like cooking, washing, or communicating).
- Mobility (help with getting around or traveling).
How much do you get?
Like Child Disability Payment, it’s split into:
- Daily living component: For help with personal care or everyday tasks (standard or enhanced rates).
- Mobility component: For help with getting around (standard or enhanced rates).
Key Differences:
- Universal Credit is for general living costs and is income-related.
- Child Disability Payment and Adult Disability Payment are specifically for covering the extra costs that come with a disability or long-term illness, regardless of income.
