Who Funds Us

Dumfries and Galloway Citizens Advice Service is a charity. We rely on funding and donations to maintain provision of advice for people across Dumfries & Galloway, whether that be via our full-time core generalist advice service in Annan, Dumfries and Stranraer, our specialist advice projects or our various outreach advice services.

We are committed to excellent fundraising that is open, honest and respectful. You can read more about how we do this in our Fundraising Policy which is available here, as well as the Scottish Fundraising Adjudication Panel’s Good Fundraising Guarantee.

See our Good Fundraising Guarantee Statement here.

We know that times are hard for everyone and with less disposable income for donations to go around, we face growing demand and rising costs against a background of falling funding in real terms. Despite all of this, during 2023-24 we put £9.9 million back into our clients’ pockets and into the local economy, helping 8,165 local people deal with 38,624 issues. These figures may look impressive, but it is important to remember that behind them are real people with real problems. The support we offer makes a tangible, positive difference to their lives.

Funding is gratefully received from a number of sources in support of all of our advice services. Individuals help us, as and when they can, through donations or fundraising activities. Other funding comes from larger groups and organisations, including those shown below.
