Remember us in your will
We are proud that our services have always been, and will always be, free and confidential to use – it is what makes Citizens Advice unique and inclusive – and we will never ask for donations in order to access our advice or support. However, like all charities, we rely on grants and donations to cover our costs. Making a legacy gift can be one way to help us.
“If you’re going to live, leave behind a legacy. Make an impact on the world that can never be erased”.
Maya Angelou
You can create your own legacy by leaving a gift in your will to Dumfries & Galloway Citizens Advice Service. If you are considering doing so, thank you. Any gift, whatever size, makes a real difference.
We know that leaving a gift in your will is a very personal decision, and we encourage you to talk it over with the people you love – they come first – and to take legal advice. Below is some information which we hope will be helpful.
How will my legacy gift help?
Every day, we provide a warm, welcome and free, impartial and confidential advice to people on a wide range of issues, from housing and debt to employment and cost of living challenges, empowering them with the knowledge and resources to overcome the challenges they face. Your legacy gift would directly support this work, ensuring we are there for those who need us the most, no matter their circumstances.
Leaving D&G CAS a gift in your will do two important things:
- it will enable us to continue providing life-changing, free, confidential advice and support to people across our region;
- it will also help us to influence government and campaign for change where it’s needed most.
How to write your will
Including a gift in your will is a relatively straightforward process. We recommend consulting with a solicitor to ensure your wishes are clearly stated and legally binding. They can assist with the wording of your gift to ensure it reflects what is particularly important to you.
D&G CAS keeps a list of solicitors across the region. Please contact us if you would like a copy.
