Give in-memory of a friend or loved one
We are proud that our services have always been, and will always be, free and confidential to use – it is what makes Citizens Advice unique and inclusive – and we will never ask for donations in order to access our advice or support. However, like all charities, we rely on grants and donations to cover our costs.
A gift in memory is a lovely way to remember someone important to you through a donation dedicated in their name. Celebrate their life while helping us to provide life-changing help for people who need it most.
There are a number of ways that you can support our work by giving charitable contributions in memory of someone who has died. See below for a few examples of how you could help make a positive impact in Dumfries & Galloway whilst keeping your loved one’s memory alive.

Donations in lieu of flowers at funerals
Lots of families choose to have donations in lieu of flowers at their loved one’s funeral and we would be very grateful if you chose Dumfries & Galloway Citizens Advice Service as the charity to receive these gifts.
Plan your own fundraiser
You may like to set up a tribute fund on JustGiving or another fundraising platform where you can include a picture and memories of your loved one. Contributors can also share messages of support and memories. Some people choose to mark an anniversary and remember someone special by hosting their own fundraiser.
Take part in a charity event
From running a half marathon to doing a Tough Mudder, get active while raising vital funds in memory of someone important to you. Whatever challenge you choose, you will make a difference to people in need across D&G.
