Child Disability Payment (for people in Scotland)
What it is:
This is money to help with extra costs of looking after a child under 18 who has a disability or long-term health condition.
Who can get it?
- Parents or guardians of a child under 18 with a physical or mental disability.
 - The child must have had the condition for at least 3 months and expect it to last at least 6 more months (some exceptions for terminal illnesses).

What it covers:
It’s for children who need extra support with:
- Care (like help with everyday tasks like washing, dressing, or eating).
 - Mobility (like help getting around).

How much do you get?
It depends on how much help the child needs:
- Care component: Based on how much help the child needs with daily activities (low, middle, or high rates).
 - Mobility component: Based on how much help they need getting around (low or high rate).
