Increase in outreach clinics for Citizens Advice
26th August 2025
Due to demand, the Dumfries and Galloway Citizens Advice Service (D&G CAS) outreach clinic at The Johnson in Kirkcudbright, is increasing its frequency from one session, to two sessions per month. They will now run on the second and the fourth Monday of each month, from 10.00am to 2.00pm.
“Outreach clinics are important, because many people are more comfortable speaking to someone face-to-face locally, as they may not be able to travel far or may not like dealing with things on the phone or by email,” says Volunteer Generalist Adviser Heather Nisbet, at the Kirkcudbright Outreach.
Debbie Caig, Community Development Officer at Kirkcudbright Development Trust is enthusiastic about the new outreach, “Bringing Citizens Advice to The Johnston reflects our core aim of supporting local people by improving access to vital services right in the heart of Kirkcudbright. This partnership is part of our wider commitment to community wellbeing – ensuring that everyone has the support they need, close to home.”
New outreach clinics have also recently been established at The North West Resource Centre in Lincluden, every Wednesday from 10,00am to 3.00pm and at Ecclefechan Surgery on the first Friday of each month from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
