Why I Volunteer at DAGCAS?

“I was looking for something to do in my retirement and found CAS through Volunteer Action D & G. From the start I found working in the bureau most rewarding albeit often a challenge with some of the difficult enquiries we get but this is what makes the job so interesting. I get a sense of satisfaction when I can send a client away content and feeling better. I also get a sense of satisfaction from fully completing a record which at times can also be a challenge.
I enjoy the face to face work which makes our present situation frustrating. I also miss regular contact with all the people in the bureau who are always available to bounce ideas off. I always look forward to coming to work because that’s how I see it – a job where I get the chance to learn new skills and practice the skills I used in my previous life.”
