Client had left a private rented property, having giving the correct notice.  The landlord withheld £140 from the client’s deposit for cleaning costs which the client does not agree with as he left the property in a clean & tidy manner. The landlord did not lodge the deposit in an appropriate scheme therefore the client is not able to have this matter dealt with through mediation.

He therefore wishes assistance to raise an action under the Tenancy Deposit Schemes (Scotland) Regulations 2011. 

At the hearing in the sheriff court the sheriff awarded our client £1,000.
